Decor / Stella's Bathroom

Okay, so here's Stella's bathroom. Nothing major (obviously). The cabinet, sink, mirror are from IKEA Godmorgon/Odensvik series. I started with the shower curtain, which is fun and feminine, but it still screamed IKEA bathroom. I knew eventually I had to make it less so without it literally screaming "little girl's bathroom." You know, just add enough so it's "her bathroom." I'm pretty sure this room (and her bedroom) will go through many identity crises. Until then, just a few art frames to complete the look. Soon, there will be a stool so she can reach for the faucet and potty training seat.

For the art gallery:

  • I had that "I pity the poo" for years. I never hung it up because, quite honestly, it's pretty immature. But I knew that one day when I have children , it'd go really great in their bathroom. Sort of a fun inspiration to learn to potty train.
  • The Bali art is actually from a calendar and got the idea from The Creativity Exchange to cut it out and frame them individually. (I was actually pregnant with Stella when I went to Bali.)
  • Stella had just turned 2 years old when I started thinking about this bathroom. She was already in her "terrible twos" so when I saw this Shakespeare quote, it was so appropriate for her: "Though she be but little, she is fierce."
  • I've been following Joy Cho's blog for years and when I saw this art frame on her website, I knew I had to have it for this bathroom. It just completes the look.
